Why Enrique Iglesias Won't Marry Anna Kournikova

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova have been going strong for nearly 11 years, but don't expect any engagement news from the notoriously private pair.
"I've never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it's because I come from divorced parents, but I don't think you love someone more because of a piece of paper," Iglesias tells Parade.

That doesn't mean the "I Like It" singer isn't committed to the tennis pro, 30. "Nowadays, it's not taboo to have kids and not be married," he explains. "What makes a difference is that you're a good parent, period."

Iglesias, 36, confused fans when he referred to Kournikova as his wife during a concert in Russia in April 2011. "It was just meant to be sweet in the moment," he tells Parade. "I thought it'd be easier for the audience to understand than if I said 'my girl.'"

 

Luckily for Iglesias, Kournikova shares his view on marriage. "It isn't important to me," she told Women's Health in 2011. "I'm in a happy relationship -- that's all that matters."

Former tennis beauty Anna Kournikova has revealed how she and her long term boyfriend Enrique Iglesias are in no hurry to get married. However, Anna does admit that she is hoping to start a family with Enrique, sometime in the near future. Kournikova explained, “I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely. Marriage isn’t important to me. I’m in a happy relationship, that’s all that matters. I absolutely want to have children, whether I have my own or adopt.”

If you’re a fan of the gorgeous Enrique Iglesias, I’m about to ruin your day.
Singer Enrique Iglesias stunned the audience at his Melbourne concert on Tuesday night, telling them he has a small penis and didn’t lose his virginity until he was 25. At a Melbourne gig on Tuesday night, for some bizarre reason, Iglesias spieled a whole lot of personal info about his sexual shortcomings.

In his 20 minute rant, Iglesias told fans that he could only last eight minutes in bed, and that he has “the smallest penis in the world”. No joke. When I first read this story I thought it had to be some kind of George Clooney style prank but, believe it or not, there’s a video of the whole cringe-worthy incident, which you can watch below.

True, the video isn’t the best quality, but transcribing some of what Iglesias said, The Sun reports that after pulling three men from the audience on stage, he quizzed them on the age they lost their virginity.

He said, “I grew up with a lot of my friends and all of them lost their virginity with hookers, not that there’s anything wrong with that. They had to pay for it. I wanted to wait for the right girl so I waited until I was 25.”
But, within moments he changed his story and claimed he was in fact 17-and-a-half when he slept with his first woman, saying “I was nervous as s*** the first time. “Usually the first time is not the best. Let me be honest, I was 17-and-a-half, I was so nervous. It lasted ten seconds.” One of the men then claimed he lasted ten minutes the first time. Iglesias replied: “Really? I don’t even last eight minutes now.”  

Chatting with the audience between songs, Iglesias answered one fan’s comment about his lady-killer looks with the bizarre insight. The audience member said the singer’s “good looks” would be great for getting ladies. Iglesias then asked: “What does Spanish good looks have to do with the size of your penis? Maybe I have the Spanish looks but I have the smallest penis in the world. I’m serious.” He then asked his companions to lift their shirts so they could compare chests.

Throughout the awkward rant, Iglesias knocked back four shots of whiskey and told the audience that he was on antibiotics and shouldn’t be drinking. In his defense, while on stage, Iglesias did admit that he’d been mixing alcohol and antibiotics. A big no, no, but I’m sure the combination of hangover, wrath of his missus (tennis hottie Anna Kournikova), and general embarrassment will be enough for him to have learnt his lesson, or want to hide in a hole for eternity.

 Anna Kournikova keeps in shape for her job as a tennis pro, but she says exercise helps her remain positive, as well. "I feel great when I sweat and get all the negative energy out," she told PEOPLE at the opening of KSwiss's new store in Santa Monica, Calif.
For the athlete, focusing on doing "weights and machines to keep the muscle mass on" is important, but the other benefits of fitness are just as rewarding. "It's just somebody's opinion and you just can't focus on that."

As for her relationship with longtime boyfriend Enrique Iglesias, Kournikova simply says that "everything is good." (The couple recently dodged rumors they were engaged.) And with both of their busy schedules, "it's just really important to understand each other."

Enrique Iglesias, who performed on February 16th at the Premio Lo Nuestro a La Musica Latina at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, joined forces with social gaming company Zynga for a second time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iglesias teamed up with CityVille to allow players to build a virtual Euphoria Arena (promoting his Euphoria tour), collect Iglesias’ trademark boots and unlock a preview of a music video.

Lost in translation? Enrique Iglesias sparked a slew of breakup rumors when he told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he and Anna Kournikova had been secretly married – and were now divorced.
"We're divorced. I am single now, but that's okay," he told the newspaper. "I don't mind being alone."

But a Kournikova pal tells PEOPLE that Iglesias was only joking, and his rep adds that, after five years, "They are still together."

In 2004, rumors circulated that the singer and the Russian tennis player, 25, had tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, but a source told PEOPLE at the time that it wasn't true. Just last month, Iglesias, 32, told PEOPLE en Español his romance with Kournikova, 26, was "the only serious relationship I've had in my life."

But when asked if he sees himself with her down the road, he said: "I don't know. The only thing I can say is that, in my opinion, Anna, whether we are together or not, would be an ideal mother."

'I'm Never Getting Married,' Says Anna Kournikova : Famous girlfriend of Enrique Iglesias

Tennis star Anna Kournikova raced to the finish line during a celebrity relay this weekend, but says Andy Roddick will definitely beat her to the altar.

PEOPLE caught up with Kournikova at the First Annual Nautica South Beach Triathalon and asked about the recent engagement of swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker to tennis' Roddick.
"They're really young, but I hope it works out," she said. And as for her own prospects with boyfriend Enrique Iglesias? "I'm never getting married," she said, adding, "Everything is good."

Meanwhile, Kournikova may have run four miles as part of a women's relay team and come in first in the women's celebrity division for St Jude's Children's Hospital, but to her it wasn't "very much."
"I just did the four-mile run," she said. "But I just was really doing my normal exercise that I normally do ... I exercise about an hour a day." Her regimen includes 30 minutes of weights and 45 minutes of cardio, she explained. "I love the feeling of sweating. I've been exercising my whole life so I really love it."

Just don't count on her to stick to a diet either. "I don't like restricting certain groups or certain types of food. I think everything in moderation is really the best way to go. I try to eat as healthy as I can, which is not always possible," she said. "You know, I have my Burger King and McDonalds days, too."

Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias are not married, sources close to the tennis star tell PEOPLE.

Although published reports said the couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a few weeks ago, a source insists to PEOPLE that it's not true: "They definitely did not get married. They're very happy together, but marriage is not something that they're planning in their lives right now."

Kournikova, 23, has a policy of not speaking publicly about her personal life, and Iglesias, 29, has declined comment.

Kournikova was spotted Dec. 12 wearing the band in question at a Florida charity event.

Published reports said Kournikova has been wearing a wedding ring, but a second source tells PEOPLE that Kournikova has owned the plain band for nearly a year, wears it often and that it is not a wedding ring.
What's more, this source says Kournikova and Iglesias have not been in Puerto Vallarta together since mid-October, weeks before their alleged wedding supposedly took place.

The couple began dating in 2002, shortly after Kournikova made an appearance in Iglesias's music video "Escape."

"He's a great guy, really down to earth," the Latin crooner – and soccer fan – tells PEOPLE. "I think he can do for soccer here what Wayne Gretzky did for hockey and Michael Jordan did for basketball. If anyone can further the sport here in America, David Beckham is the man."

It's not clear when Iglesias might make good on the promise, but if he does, it won't be the first time he's skipped through the waves in the buff. "That is what we used to do when we were kids," he told the BBC. Of course, he can probably expect a larger audience this time around.

Seems like Enrique Iglesias is a Man of his words. Enrique Iglesias Survives 2010 Air Scare Incident

Enrique Iglesias emerged without a scratch after his flight over the Atlantic was forced to make an emergency landing. 

The Spanish pop star, 33 – on a promotional tour of Europe after the release of his greatest hits album – was aboard a plane from the U.S. that was forced to shut down one of its engines before being diverted to Luton Airport outside London, reports Britain's Press Association.

The singer's agent said, "The highly skilled pilots managed to make a safe landing and nobody was hurt." A rep for Iglesias's Polydor label confirmed no one was injured.

The air scare comes a month after Travis Barker and DJ AM miraculously survived a private-plane crash in South Carolina that claimed the lives of two crew members and two other passengers.

The singer’s bravado has served him well. After helping to launch the Latin music boom with sultry ballads, Iglesias, 36, is now one of dance music’s chief provocateurs, with hits like “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You).” The high-flying star, whose latest album is Euphoria, tells Mary Margaret what keeps him grounded.

PARADE : You spent much of last year touring the world. Did you take any keepsakes with you?
ENRIQUE : I have a picture of my two dogs, Lucas and Grammy. Grammy passed away in 2010. That dog was like a human—he would get sad when I packed my bags. It was like losing one of my best friends.

PARADE : A lot of your songs are about love. Why?
ENRIQUE : It’s the thing we all have in common. Ninety percent of music tackles that subject because everyone—no matter how old, what religion, or what nationality—knows those feelings.

PARADE : Speaking of love, you introduced longtime girlfriend Anna Kournikova as your wife at a concert in Russia last year. What was that about?
ENRIQUE : It was just meant to be sweet in the moment. I honestly didn’t mean to confuse people. I thought it’d be easier for the audience to understand than if I said “my girl.”

PARADE : So no wedding bells soon?
ENRIQUE : I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper. And nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.

PARADE : What did you learn about fame from observing your father Julio’s career?
ENRIQUE : I remember there were these two guys who worked with him who would never even watch his show, but afterward they were at his dressing room saying, “Man, that’s the best show I’ve ever seen you do.” In showbiz, it’s easy to be surrounded by people who tell you everything is great, and as a little kid, I developed a sixth sense about those people. It gave me a tremendous psychological advantage.

PARADE : You grew up in Miami and still live there. What do you love about it?
ENRIQUE : People always think of the partying and the clubs on South Beach, but it has a tranquil side, too. It’s a city where you can truly enjoy the water, get on your boat and just go fishing. And the water’s not cold!

PARADE : How do you spend Sundays when you’re home?
ENRIQUE : I sit on the couch and watch TV. 60 Minutes is my favorite show. It’s kinda weird because I go from that to American Idol to Real Time With Bill Maher.

PARADE : You like to go to the movies on Mondays and Tuesdays. Why is that?
ENRIQUE : It’s the best time: There are no lines, and you’re not sitting next to someone who’s snoring.

PARADE : What’s the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention?
ENRIQUE : Sometimes you’ll see a shirt fly off. That will get not only my attention, but the whole band’s.

Elvira, the lady that took care of me when my parents weren't able to be there. She dedicated her whole life to me and my brother and my sister. Now I take care of her.

My dogs.

Where would you like to live?
Other than Miami, the west coast of Mexico or Australia.

What would your super power be?
Flying.

If you could bring something extinct back to life, what would you choose?
My dog, Grammy, who passed away three weeks ago.

I bite the nails on my feet.

Outliers, by Malcolm Gladwell.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
A guilty pleasure is something you're a little embarrassed about. I could say reality shows – but I watch them and I don't feel guilty about it.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?
Elvis, Obama, Michael Jackson and Abraham Lincoln.

What has been your biggest disappointment?
Trusting someone that was a fake.

If you could edit your past, what would you change?
I wouldn't change anything. I've made mistakes, but thanks to those mistakes, I've learnt.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
To the dinosaur era.

How do you relax?
In my house, on the sofa.

What is the closest you've come to death?
Probably every time I fly. I am a pilot, but I tend just to get rid of the checklist – only when I fly by myself!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
The great friends I have.
